Tale of Boy - Cool and edgy kids style from the UK

Image
Today I am loving the British kids fashion label Tale of Boy . It's a small scale brand making unique, handmade children's clothes designed and produced in London. They draw inspiration from the wonderful multitude of subcultures in their surroundings and the general buzzing life in the city, creating their  own particular edgy and raw style that I am completely crazy about!  Awesome prints, playful textures and funky cuts, oh yeah! I have had the pleasure of receiving these super cool kids fashion shots by the lovely photographer Alexandra Cooper , which I have mixed with some of my favorite styles currently available in their webshop . Leah Rose , the designer behind Tale of Boy , produces very limited collections monthly or bimonthly to ensure the uniqueness of every product, and from there on never looks back. So if you have fallen for one (or ten..) of their styles do not hesitate to go for it right away, cause tomorrow there are big chances of them being gone! The Tale of

The young, sustainable brand Mainio Clothing  from Finland has been on my list of top kidswear labels since they launched their first collection this spring (you can see  their SS14 here . And by the way, I just noticed that that was my actual first post in KID - wow!!!). I just can't get enough of their super cool geometrical prints, their bold illustrations and overall clean lines. Just brilliant! Kids on the Moon AW14 - 'Space Time' kids fashion collection

Image
Hey everybody,  it's Monday morning; I need something extra clean, simple and fresh to clear out my mind and get this week started nicely. Know the feeling? Well, that and a steamy cup of black coffee!  The new  Kids on the Moon  collection has been waiting all jippery in my inbox for a perfect occasion. This is it! This season the Polish kids fashion brand takes us on a journey in space and time. Nothing is as it seems, illusions play with our senses. No gravity clothing in 4 dimensions - 3D is represented in the geometrical shapes of autumn ponchos and vests, sculptured skirts and soft structures of padded quilts. The 4th dimension is reflected as time warps where unicorns and ruffles reappear... Crispy clean lines, simplicity and minimalist style. I love the light weight color palette dominated by grey tones, grey melange, blues and honey, so easy and natural and perfect for mixing and matching. I have also especially fallen for their quilted fabrics (the ponchos are so good!) a

Out and About: Found the horses!

Hey everybody! So I realized the other day, that I hadn't written anything from our everyday life in a very long time. Of course, with all the fantastic new autumn releases it has been one collection after the other, and so I thought it might be time to come back to basics, right?! This weekend has been all about enjoying the momentary slow life, relaxing with the family and not wanting to do anything special. These weekends somehow always turns out to be the best and the most adventurous in the end, maybe because you stop thinking about things you want to do and just fully appreciate and really notice the moment you are in. I tend to get "a tiny bit" hyper active when it comes to the weekends, there are so many things I want to do and see, and my husband is just the opposite who wants to relax! It's two different ways of disconnecting, but of course equally valid, and despite of everything we always seem to find a middle way that works for both of us.  This weekend t

Picnik Barcelona autumn/winter 2014 - Spanish kids fashion

Image
The Spanish brand  Picnik Barcelona  is up with yet another fabulous kidswear collection. I love their calm, non-pretentious, comfortable and cool style, their vintage-like fabrics in spot on color palettes and their simple and quirky prints that invites to tell a thousand stories. If this is the first time you hear about them, do also check out their awesome spring collection , which I wrote about some months ago.  Their autumn collection 2014 is all about day dreaming and you will find imaginative and inspirational prints like arrows and apples, stairways to heaven, whale song, a man under the moon, smiles and much more. Dresses are somehow always the last garment I look at, sorry! I have always been such a tomboy and I bet my poor daughter would love to be able to twirl a bit more ;) But their sweatdresses are just perfect for a midway agreement - cool, casual and comfortable. I especially love the lace detail around the arms and the ones with the huge kangaroo pocket in front, perf

Hambro & Miller AW14 - Cosy Scandi style knitwear for kids

Image
There is something really special about hand knitted clothes - the uniqueness of the particular garment, the art, the time and love put into the work, they can even provoke a certain melancholic mood, a sense of reassurance and above all, the word 'cosy' seems to always fit in. The UK based brand Hambro & Miller creates traditionally styled, hand knitted children's clothing using the finest natural yarn, like Baby Alpaca. Their collections aren't led by fashion, but emphasize on the traditional craft and take inspiration from the Scandinavian roots of the company to create practical, comfortable and very cosy, gender-neutral styles. I love this kind of garments, so calm yet funky in a retro way, and simple and natural yet they never get boring for their versatility - very Scandi! I especially have my eye on the waistcoats which are just perfect for layering, mixing and matching, and the raglan jumpers and warrior boots are adorable! Check out the whole collection
